Three public school teachers and one Catholic school teacher will be selected to travel to Rwanda this summer to study business solutions to poverty. K-12 teachers in all subject areas are welcome to apply and to spend two weeks in Rwanda meeting with leaders in Rwanda’s private, government, and educational sectors. A unique experience will be designed for each winning teacher based on their area of expertise. For example, a journalism teacher might shadow the editor of a major Rwandan publication while a biology teacher might spend time with scientists working in Rwanda’s biotech cluster. The goal of the program is for participants to share what they’ve learned with their own students.
To apply, visit Teaching Fellowship Competition and submit a short essay and the required information online by February 15, 2011. Awards will be announced in March.
