Don’t Miss the Deadline for Lowe’s Toolbox Grants

One thousand schools will receive grants up to $5000 to fund creative school improvement projects such as creating a reading garden, enhancing a playground, creating a physical fitness area, a peer tutoring center, or almost any school improvement project you can think of. K-12 public schools are eligible to apply online by submitting school contact information and a short summary of the project. Win up to $3000 to Create a Healthier Environment at Your School

K-12 public schools are eligible to win up to $3000 through the Fuel Up to Play 60 program. Fuel Up to Play 60 was created to help schools spread student awareness and provide opportunities for healthy eating and increased physical activity at school. The next deadline for applications is December 1, 2010. Visit Fuel Up to Play 60 to download an application.

Cash for Classrooms Contest Begins October 18!

Del Monte Fresh produce is launching an online contest called Teacher Monday: Cash for Classrooms. Beginning October 18, each week, for five consecutive weeks, ten K-12 public school teachers will be selected win $750 in cash and $250 in fresh fruit gift certificates to purchase school supplies for their classrooms. The fruit is for classroom snacks and to encourage healthy eating habits.

To apply, teachers need to register online and submit a short essay (up to 500 words) describing how the funds will be spent. Winning is based solely on the number of votes received online so encourage friends, family, parents, and students to get online and vote!
