Thanks to a three year $1.95 million dollar grant from the National Science Foundation, a team of researchers and developers from the University of Kansas will design and develop a computer-based game intended to engage middle school students, and their teachers, in scientific argumentation. Intel is currently accepting applications for its prestigious Intel Schools of Distinction awards. Awards are given to schools that demonstrate exemplary instruction and innovative learning environments in math and science. Eighteen finalists are chosen from the applications three in each grade group: K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Each finalist will receive $5000 from the Intel Foundation and a trip to Washington D.C. for the awards ceremony. (more…)
