ALA Honors Arcademic Skillbuilders

Arcademic Skillbuilders is an educational game site created to help students in grades 3 to 8 improve their basic math and language arts skills. Students are highly motivated to learn and improve in a gaming environment and teachers are finding great success improving math scores using Arcademic Skillbuilders in the classroom.

Recently the American Library Association chose Arcademic Skillbuilders to be featured on its Great Web Sites for Kids page. The GWS committee is very selective when choosing sites for its Web page. Each site is carefully reviewed and only the very best Web sites are chosen. Visit Great Web Sites for Kids to find a link to Arcademic Skillbuilders and other great resources to use in your classroom.

RubiStar Testimonial

RubiStar is part of the 4Teachers.org suite of free online tools. Educators can use RubiStar to create high-quality rubrics in just a few minutes using customizable templates. Occasionally we like to post positive feedback we receive about our resources so that other educators might find inspiration.

I just wanted to let you know that I am tutoring a 5th grader named Jackson in reading this summer, and that Rubistar  has saved my life. I don’t really use it to give him a rubric necessarily, but more for organizing my own thoughts and helping his mom understand exactly what I’m trying to teach him (which makes her
happy too!).  So, THANK YOU!

Sincerely,
 M. McCormick
